Celsius Coffee Co.

I've become quite obsessed with all things food lately, and I have decided to broaden my cafe/restaurant horizons and try new places. Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, and I was recommended by Ellen to check out Celsius Coffee Co., a quaint little cafe located on Kirribilli Wharf. Not only was my best friend Cass and I impressed by the view of the beautiful Sydney Harbour and the incredible water-front mansions, but we were extremely impressed with the service and quality of food. If you're a breakfast lover like me, you will love the vast array of options, from waffles to burgers. I had the 'Something Light' with the fresh Watermelon Juice, and Cass had the 'Celsius Waffles' with freshly squeezed OJ.

On this day in particular I wasn't quite feeling like putting on fake tan and looking sophisticated so I just opted for my go-to, laid-back outfit, which consists of boyfriend jeans and a basic tee. You either love or hate these jeans, but I am obsessed. I got them from Forever 21 in Hawaii for so cheap, and they're the most comfortable pair I've owned. The tight black off-shoulder top is from Kookai and my sandals are from Wanted Shoes. There's not a day that goes by that I'm not wearing my trusty Karen Walker tortoise sunnies which I got for $100USD - bargain! Watch is Fossil, cuff bracelet is Mimco and necklace is Tiffany & Co.

If you're in Sydney and looking for a place to grab a bite to eat, check out Celsius Coffee Co

Until Next Time...

Valentines Day Gift Guide - For Him & Her

With Valentines Day fast approaching, I thought it'd be a good idea to post some gift ideas for your significant other. Whilst I don't really celebrate this day with my boyfriend, I know that there are quite a number of you who really want to go all out, hence why I made these sets to give you all some inspiration.

Please take note though, I used the items in these sets purely for aesthetics, and in no way believe you should be spending close to $500 on a Gucci belt, I just added photos as examples for the things you might want to buy!

FOR HIM...

Overnight bag - If you have a relationship anything like mine and live some-sort of a distance away, an overnight bag is essential in your life for those late nights you can't be bothered to drive all the way home. This is also a great gift idea if you're staying somewhere or going away for the Valentines weekend. The one featured is from Gap, however, you can also find some at Culture Kings, David Jones and Myer.

Cologne - Although it may seem like such a typical gift idea, you can never go wrong with giving your SO a new cologne to add to their collection. A few of my favourites are Bleu de Chanel, Ralph Lauren Polo, One Million and also Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Headphones - For all the music or gym lover boyfriends, headphones are such a good idea, and your local JB Hi-FI will have a vast array of them in different price points. A personal favourite of mine are the Beats by Dr. Dre as I find them quite fashion-forward with also having amazing sound.

Wallet - No explanation necessary. A designer wallet is the perfect introductory piece to a male's designer collection, and they aren't as expensive as women's - a win-lose for us. Pop over to Mr. Porter to browse their men's SLG collection, not only are the pieces incredible but their packaging and gift wrapping service is impeccable. A few of my favourite brands for wallets are Saint Laurent, Fossil and Gucci.

Sunglasses - In my opinion, a hot pair of sunglasses on a guy can truly make an outfit. I'm obsessing over the Ray-Bans that I featured in the picture above, but Ray-Ban also makes the best aviators if your boyfriend is more into that kind of style.

Watch - If your boyfriend doesn't have a watch then this is the perfect time to get him one. No matter what your budget is you'll definitely be able to find one that is both stylish and good quality. For Christmas 2 years ago, I bought my boyfriend a Nikon watch apart of the Star Wars collection because Star Wars is his favourite movie, so check out different watch shops to see if they have a collection that corresponds with a favourite movie of your significant other.

Shoes - Whether your boyfriend is an avid sneaker collector - like mine - or needs a pair of dressy shoes for going out, shoes can be a really inexpensive gift compared to the other ideas. Check out Industrie, Marco Gianni, Adidas and Platypus.

FOR HER...

Phone case - I'm a phone case lover and collector, and you really can't go wrong with giving me a new one. At the moment my heart and eyes are set on the Louis Vuitton flip phonecase....heart eye emoji. The Daily Edited, Mimco and Casetify have some amazing phone cases that any girlfriend will be obsessed with.

Card-holder - If your girlfriend is like me and doesn't really enjoy carrying a big wallet full of un-necessary junk or she needs something little to throw in her clutch when going clubbing, getting her a  cardholder is a great idea. Yves Saint Laurent, The Daily Edited and Chanel have the best cardholders in my opinion.

Smart watch - The Fossil watch pictured above is in fact a smart watch, and is one of the most handy accessories I have. The watch vibrates when you get notifications from Instagram and Snapchat, as well as tells you when you've received a text. The best part about it though is how pretty it is, unlike the Apple watch or Fitbit. It's a plus too that you can take off the band and replace it with other ones which you can buy at the Fossil store.

Lingerie - I mean, can you go any wrong? Check out Bras n' Things, Honey Birdette and Cotton On Body.

Sunglasses - A staple in any girl's wardrobe. If your girlfriend takes a million hours to put on makeup just to go down the road to get breakfast, invest in a pair for her like these Celine ones, so she can save time in putting on makeup and hide her face from the public and still feel confident. Quay make some similar, inexpensive ones too.

Perfume - One of the greatest presents you can buy for any girlfriend is a Chanel fragrance, because it instantly makes any girl feel amazing.

I hope you found these gift ideas helpful and get absolutely spoiled this Valentines Day. These ideas can honestly be used for any occasion either!
Happy Valentines Day - I hope to have you stick around for my next post.

Love,
Maddy

My American Beauty Haul

Before I embarked on my trip to Hawaii, I promised myself that I would not buy more makeup because there was no need to add to my already large collection.  However, almost 2 hours after I had checked in at my hotel, I found myself standing in front of the most quiet and relaxed Sephora on Kalakaua Ave. The one thing that stops me from ever going into Sephora and Mecca in Sydney is the huge crowds of people who'll push you and shove you just to get their hands on Huda Beauty's new lip contour kits, only to put it down. So obviously, I had to take advantage of being able to walk around freely.

The Modern Renaissance palette must have been one of the most talked about cult beauty products in 2016 and it's almost impossible to get in Australia. I totally get the hype, the palette is highly pigmented and has the most beautiful array of colours. If you can get your hands on it please take the plunge and purchase it. There was such a significant price difference as well in comparison to Australia so it was a win-win situation.

Products that I love splurging on is base makeup products, such as foundations, concealers and powders. As I suffer from really dry skin, I was looking for a foundation that wasn't going to make my face extremely matte like Mac Studio Fix does. The NARS Sheer Glow foundation was at the top of my must-have list as it made my skin look dewy at my school formal. Once again, it was significantly cheaper compared to Sydney prices, and I picked it up in the shade Barcelona which is the perfect match to my fake tan. The sales assistant told me that the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer complemented the foundation in the shade medium-light, and I find that it doesn't crease at all. I don't think I have to explain my need for the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, it's a staple in everyone's makeup kit and works exceptionally well with a damp beauty blender.

When I saw that Urban Outfitters sold Eyeko, I immediately looked for the Alexa Chung Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner. I'm a lover of both Chung and winged liner, so I had to grab this. This eyeliner is also supposed to enhance your eyelashes but I couldn't really notice that because of how lengthening the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara is already, which I got from Sephora.

Some of the miscellaneous things I purchased in Sephora was the Origins Gin-Zing cleanser which is INCREDIBLE and you must get it because my skin is looking so radiant and clear, as well as the Sephora Pro Contour 79 Brush, which is just your standard contour brush.

Funnily enough, I got the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer from Nordstrom Rack, a heavily discounted Nordstrom store in Waikiki that has an amazing beauty section, with brands such as Too Faced, Smashbox and Lorac heavily discounted. I decided to get the travel size version of this primer because I just wanted to trial it out before committing to the full-sized version and I am so glad I did as I dislike the texture of this product. However, it was such a steal for only $10.

If there's one thing I regret from my shopping experience in Hawaii it's that I didn't take full advantage of the Mac Cosmetics store. The prices are crazzzzzy cheap compared to Australia, with eyeshadow pans being only $6. The only things I got from there was a matte lipstick in Honey Love which is my go-to nude shade, and also the Mac Brush Cleanser, which I'm hoping will get my trusty Zoeva brushes back to their original colour...Wish me luck.

How Kora Organics Cleared my Skin...

Finding a skincare range that clears up acne, hydrates the skin, and gives a flawless glow, is difficult to find. Especially a range that is affordable and is teenager friendly. For the majority of us teenagers - except the minority whom are blessed with naturally clear skin - our skin goes a little crazy. There are many causes to acne such as hormones, stress, and in most cases, using strong chemical based products that are adding more damage to your skin.

KORA Organics is an organic skincare line founded by Aussie supermodel, Miranda Kerr. It is made from all natural products and from personal experience, nourishes and purifies your skin. Prior to KORA, I was using the 3-step system from Clinique, to which I soon discovered wasn't doing my skin any good. With my acne getting worse and my self esteem decreasing, I decided to start the pill, thinking that my acne was purely from hormones. A year and a half later and my skin had remained the same, and my doctor recommended that I change the products that I use to a brand that has less chemicals and is more natural.

Before I knew it, I had decided to make the switch to KORA, and ever since my skin has cleared up (minor the few hormonal acne scarring on my left cheek as a result of being on the pill) and has been much more hydrating. KORA is great in the aspect that it offers various packs depending on your skin type and what kind of products you are wanting to purchase. Due to the fact I have dry skin, I decided to purchase the KORA Organics Hydration Pack (RRP: $99 - Limited Edition to David Jones). This pack comes with the KORA Cream Cleanser, KORA Day and Night Cream, and the KORA Hydrating Mask.

My favourite product from the pack is the KORA Hydrating Mask. It is recommended that this mask is used twice a week, and which I apply before I go to bed. I leave the mask to set for up to 10 minutes, and then rinse it off using warm water and a muslin cloth. For anyone with dry skin, this product is a must for your skincare routine. Your skin is left feeling gentle, fresh, and certainly hydrated.

Whilst these products are my holy grails for keeping my skin hydrated and purified, drinking plenty of water (up to 1.5L a day), reducing the amount of sugar/oil you consume, and removing your makeup are also essential. For removing makeup, I use the Nivea Daily Essentials makeup wipes as well as the L'Oreal Skin Perfection micellar water, that removes those extra bits of makeup that a wipe doesn't remove.

If you manage to get your hands on KORA Organics products, be sure to leave a comment and tell me how you find it - would love to hear your thoughts! ♡
PLEASE NOTE: This review is not sponsored. This is my honest opinion.

Inside my Makeup Bag

Happy 2016! Whilst I despise New Years Resolutions, my 2016 goal is to be more consistent with Vivid Souls, and whilst I want to promise you 1-2 posts a week, please bear with me as I am undergoing my final year of high school. There is no post better to start off my 2016 posts then an updated everyday makeup routine. Typically, my makeup routine stays pretty much the same for 6-12 months, with the occasional switch up of a foundation or eyeshadow.

BASE: Everybody wants their makeup to be long-lasting, especially the base. Having hydrated and moisturised skin is essential to achieve this, so having a skincare regime that both hydrates and moisturises is the key to success!!! (skincare routine coming very soon!) To ensure my foundation lasts all day and blends smoothly, I use the Kora Organics Day and Night Cream which gives a glow to my skin followed by the Stila One Step Correct Primer, that colour corrects, brightens and adds a healthy glow. As for foundation, I am currently obsessing over the Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation, simply because it is blends seamlessly and gives a full coverage affect without looking 'caked'. To cover my dark under-eye circles I use the Nars Creamy Concealer in custard and to set in place I use the banana powder in the ABH Contour Kit. For those days when I need a little extra coverage, Nars All-Day Luminous Powder Foundation is my go-to.

CHEEKS: The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit is a cult favourite, and in my opinion, the most raved about product in 2015. Almost every beauty blogger has this palette, and I knew I had to get my hands on it and see what the fuss was all about. Sure enough, this palette doesn't disappoint, with three highlighting shades and three contouring powders that sculpts and defines your entire face. As usual, I use Nars 'Orgasm' Blush and MAC Soft and Gentle Highlight to add a little something else to the face.

EYEBROWS: If there is one product I need to invest in it is an eyebrow pencil. For the past 3 years I have used a brown Maybelline Eyeshadow and a MAC Eyebrow Brush to fill in my eyebrows. Personally, I am not a fan of drawing on my eyebrows or overdoing it by filling them in, so if you have any suggestions of an eyebrow product that is natural and easy to use, please let me know!

EYES & LIPS: Before I go in with eyeshadow, I always define my crease with the Nars 'Laguna' Bronzer using a Zoeva blending brush. After defining the crease, I then typically do a subtle brown smokey eye using brown/taupe shades from the Chi Chi 'Nudes' Palette. Layering on mascara is also another essential in my makeup routine. For thicker lashes I use the Essence 'I Love Extreme' mascara and to lengthen them Benefit 'They're Real'. As for lips, a pinky-nude colour is what I tend to lean towards. MAC 'Pure Zen' and 'Please Me' are my favourite pinky-nude colours!

BRUSHES: All BASE brushes are from Real Techniques and Eyes/Face products are from Zoeva.

Wishing you all a happy 2016 and that all your goals are achieved and you have your best year yet! Feel free to comment any questions below, and make sure you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (maddychipp) for more.
